Earlier Aadhar card was mandatory for everything we do like getting a sim or open a bank account, etc. But now Supreme Court has announced new orders on the use of aadhar card. 

On 26th Sept, 5-judge constitution bench announced where Aadhar card can be used and where it can't.

Let's list down where aadhar card will be required:-

• For PAN Card
• To file income tax return
• To receive subsidy and benefits from all government purposes.

Now I will list down where it will not be required anymore:-

• To open a bank account, or getting a new sim.
• For admission in schools no aadhar card is required.
• Childs, under 14 years of age, without an aadhar card, can't be deprived from the important stuffs that they deserve.
• Aadhar card is not require for the exams like CBSE, NEET and UGC.

So now you know where aadhar card will be required and where not. 

Now let's know what these 5-judges think about aadhar card--

• Aadhar card gives benefit to everyone.
• The government can't store aadhar data for more than 6 months. Previously as per the rule government could store the data upto 5 years but now it is restricted to 6 months.
• Your Aadhar is safe. Everyone is assigned with a unique aadhar id so there is no question about duplicacy.
• Private companies can not ask for aadhar card details. As they can misuse our personal data.

In India 122 crore aadhar cards were issued and it is the biggest biometric database in the world. Now you may ask what is biometric database? -- well its the collection of your fingerprints and iris scans.

Now I will tell you how you can delink your aadhar card from bank, sim and paytm.

So first of all let's talk about how to delink aadhar card from the bank:-

Just go to your bank and tell them that you want to delink your aadhar card from your bank account as the supreme court has announced that it is not mandatory.

They will give you a form and will ask for an identity proof. Just provide that and your request will be served soon.

Now I will tell you how you can delink aadhar card from Paytm:

Paytm is a private company. In their earlier days, they said users have to link their aadhar card to their Paytm account for account verification. Nowadays mostly everyone has linked their aadhar card with Paytm. Now a private company has all the records of your biometrics and personal information. 

You can delink it very easily-

"01204456456" - This is a toll free number of Paytm. Call on this number and tell them that you want to delink your aadhar card from Paytm. Immediately they will send you a verification mail and will ask you to send a scan copy of your aadhar card for identify that it's you. After that within 72 hours your aadhar card will be delinked from your Paytm.

You can delink your aadhar card from your sim by calling the customer care. They will tell you the process that you need to follow to delink your aadhar card from your sim.
